Anne Francois Gros Vosne Romanee 'Aux Reas' 2005
A classic Vosne nose (save for a discreet bit of wood) with abundant spice notes adding nuance to the refined and pure black fruit aromas that give way to punchy middle weight flavors that are finer and more sophisticated if not more powerful. The tannins are not ultra sophisticated, though neither are they rustic and overall, this is certainly a seductive and altogether lovely effort, especially for a villages level wine. Anne Francois Gros, Vosne Romanee 'La Fontaine' 2005
A deft touch of wood but also reduction makes the nose difficult to easily read but the flavors are rich, full, fresh and sweet, possessing good volume and complexity on the vibrant and punchy finish. The NV Brut Rose is especially full-bodied in this year’s version, Gorgeous notes of freshly cut flowers, raspberries, spices and minerals flow from this delicious Champagne. An aged, rich Alsace riesling, that would be beautiful with any pork dish. A monster of a vin, with some a beautiful sweetness and acid balance making it so moorish! Drinking a treat now (2009) but would cellar for another decade easy!

Floral nose with that botrytis scent that gives that impression of a sweet vin, but no on the palate although rich and ripe it's dry! Lovely finesse and fineness to be found here, class indeed!
