Chateau Du Cedre "Le Prestige' 2005
90% Malbec and 10% Tannat. Aged 1/3 each new, 1y.o. & 2y.o. barrels. The 2005 is a classic year for Cahors continuing the high standards set by the wines of the last several vintages. This is a big and bold wine, with copious quantities of layered fruit. It is almost black in colour, with chewy, rich black-fruit flavours filling the mouth. Full and firm in structure with substantial fine tannic grip. The wine is drinking well now with rich meaty dishes.

Domaine Chignard, 'Les Moriers' Fleurie 2007
Michel Chignard's 8 hectares of vines are situated right at the top of the hill bordering Moulin-à-Vent, on pure granitic soil in the heart of the Fleurie appellation. The ‘Moriers’ lieu-dit contains the oldest vines, some of which are over 40-years-old and all of which are free-standing in traditional ‘gobelet’ style. Vinification is divided between stainless steel, cement and large wooden tanks, all using the classic whole bunch method for the maximum extraction of fruit. The subtly differing cuvées are then blended early in the spring and allowed to harmonise over three to four months. Chignard's Fleuries are unusually concentrated, intensely aromatic and have a depth of fruit and structure seldom found in wines form this village. Young Cédric Chignard has been involved in the vinification process for the last few vintages, under the watchful eye of his father. Elusive and seductive, with waves of subtle fruits-- strawberry, cherry, plum. Supple yet firm with great length. 100% estate-grown and bottled gamay.

Domaine Des Nugues, Fleurie 2007
90 Points Huon Hooke. Good Living 2/6/09 An excellent "Cru" Beaujolais loaded with plummy, meaty aromas but it really proves itself in the mouth, where its full and deep with big volume of softly round flavours a nice touch of tannin to finish. Not too much stalky charachter, either.

Domaine du Tix Cuvee De Bramefan (Syrah -Cote du Ventoux) 2007
This just could be the best Cotes du Ventoux I've ever tasted. It has more richness and depth and a lovely spectrum of ripely spicy shiraz flavours and aromas, without obstruction from oak. The colour is deep and purple-edged, the nose is meaty, nutty and plummy with an array of spicy nuances. The ripeness is spot-on., with no sign of greenness or jaminess, and the alcohol accordingly is a very moderate 13.5 percent. It's fruit driven and gracefully structured with fine texture and a seemless balance. It comes into its own with food: rare steak is perfect. Drink now and for at least six years. 93/100 Huon Hooke, SMH Good Living 8 Sept 2009

Domaine Hubert de Montille, Bourgogne 2004
A pretty but distinctly earth nose combines with round and forward yet precise and racy flavors that possess reasonable phenolic ripeness and a mildly edgy finish. Solid if not exceptional quality here. Burghound Apr 01, 2006 83-85 Points Drink: 2007+

Domaine Jean-Claude Lapalu Brouilly Cuvee Vieilles Vignes 2008
A stunning wine, the dark-colored Brouilly Cuvee Vieilles Vignes reveals dark roasted aromas of sweet earth, red cherries, and blackberries. Medium to full-bodied, complex, and velvety-textured, its hugely concentrated core of cherries, blackberries, minerals, cassis, raspberries, and blueberries is chewy as well as dense. WINE ADVOCATE
