Beaune! With Christian & Cristina

Tim's cousin, started off his days at Vaucluse Cellars at the ripe old  age of 15. He's studied winemaking at @ Adelaide University as well as the CFPPA – Viticultural College in Beaune. Currently he and his partner Cristina, also a wine maker, live in Beaune. His primary activity at present is the co-ordination of the Viticultural program at Domaine Chandon de Brailes in Pernand Vergeles.

As Christian was about to discover, its not all about producting the perfect grape. The bio-dynamic culture which defines so many of Burgundy's great producers, Domaine Romanee Conti included, is big on minimising high-technology production methods. The philosophy that the true essence of a wine should reflect the terroir of that reigion is reflected in vineyard care and management. Taken to the extreme, horses are used instead of tractors and walls are hand built out of stone.

While both Christian and Christina are working in some of the best vineyards in the world, they also operate their own Burgundy exploration tours. These tours take in the very best of what Burgundy has to offer and as such we will be inviting them to document some of their experiences for this page.
