Caillard, Mataro 2008
The brambly/ blackberry/ chamomile aromas, underlying fragrance of new oak, brawny but sinuous texture and mid-palate buoyancy give it both plenty of life and length. The blackberry / herb garden flavours, nuances of new oak, moderate alcohol and touches of earthiness give it a striking individuality.

Chapoutier, Belleruche Rouge, 2007
The 2007 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche is a strong effort in this vintage from Michel Chapoutier. The wine is already delicious, showing notes of plum, black currant, and cherry in a straightforward, fruity style with good body and seductive aromatics. It is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah and should drink well for 4-5 years. 88pt. Wine Advocate # 173

Charles Sturt, Chardonnay 2008 (Dozen Price Only)
Light to medium yellow-green; the bouquet is clean and smooth, quite light, but with attractive citrus, nectarine and melon fruit. The very pleasant, smooth and supple palate likewise offers melon and nectarine fruit running through a long finish. JAMES HALLIDAY

Chateau Rauzan-Segla, Margaux 2004
The 2004 Rauzan-Segla is superior to the 2003, offering a deep ruby/purple hue in addition to a flowery, mineral-infused, sweet black fruit, cherry, and subtle oak-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied, elegant, beautifully concentrated, and well-balanced in a classic, feminine style, it should drink well for 15+ years. ROBERT PARKER
