Domaine Bertagna, Nuits St.-Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers 2005
A pungent combination of red and black pinot fruit and warm earth notes introduce rich, full and somber flavors that possess good power and solid structure on the beautifully long finish. This is a serious wine with a spicy character and buffered tannins that should carry this for 20 years. Burghound Jan 01, 2007 90-92 points Drink: 2015+

Domaine Chandon de Briailles, Corton Les Bressandes Grand Cru 2002
Curiously, this seems riper on the nose than the Maréchaudes, which almost never happens, followed by precise and much denser flavors that are fresh, pure, classy and defined by the intense minerality on the finish. This is not as structured as I would have anticipated but the elegance and balance are clearly of grand cru caliber. Burghound Apr 01, 2004 91 Points Drink: 2009-17

Domaine Chandon de Briailles, Corton Les Maréchaudes Grand Cru 2001
Tight, reserved, almost somber fruit that is riper than the Valozières introduces beautifully complex, delicious yet entirely serious, medium weight flavors that finish in an intense velvety character that buffers the solid structure. Maréchaudes can often be a bit too ripe yet this remains very fresh. Burghound Apr 01, 2003 90 Points Drink: 2008-14

Domaine Chandon de Briailles, Corton Les Maréchaudes Grand Cru 2002
Very tight and reserved, indeed this is presently almost completely inexpressive aromatically and the flavors are supple and even a bit light though they offer good punch and plenty of authority. The finish is generous and persistent but I can only assume that the mise has caused this to shut down because the wine is not at its usual standard and my score offers the benefit of the doubt. Domaine Christian Serafin, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux 2005
This too is brooding and rather inexpressive just now with somber but ripe berry fruit aromas, game, warm earth and a hint of anise that merge into rich, supple and concentrated flavors that possess more overall depth and power on the chewy and beautifully persistent finish. This is very Gevrey in character with that sort of intense animale element that some 1ers have, particularly Corbeaux. Burghound Jan 01, 2007 89-92 Points Drink: 2013+

Domaine Christian Serafin, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Fontenys 2005
Subtle wood spice notes serve to highlight more elegant and airier black and blue berry fruit aromas that merge into rich, intense, delineated and pure flavors that are generous, indeed almost fleshy yet possess a beautiful sense of balance on the explosive finish that does a slow build from the mid-palate to the finale. Lovely. Burghound Jan 01, 2007 90-92 Points Drink: 2013+

Domaine Collotte, Chambolle Musigny VV 2006
Intensely ruby-red in the glass it displays a beautiful scented nose of raspberries, cherries, spices and some earth while the silky delicacy of the palate underpins the elegance and femininity of a wine from this appellation. And of course, balance, complexity, length, good acid and subtle tannins are all there.
