Alvaro Palacios Camins del Priorat 2009
The 2009 Camins del Priorat is more perfumed than the 2008 as well as more structured. It offers up an alluring perfume of black cherry, plum, and blueberry. With structure and the fruit density to last at least a decade.

Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 2009
Crimson 2009 is characterised by dark cherry fruit and earthy complexity; the product of a warm vintage that delivered a wonderful spread of tannins from both the skins and the ripe, nut-brown seeds. There are savoury, gamey notes as well as hints of crushed rose petals on the nose, altogether more evocative of Burgundy than typical, fruit-forward New World pinots. The palate has a long, satisfying, flavoursome finish. WINEMAKER

Chateau Du Cedre 2008
90% Malbec and 5% Merlot, 5% Tannat. Aged 1/3 each new, 1y.o. & 2y.o. barrels. 2008 is a classic year for Cahors continuing the high standards set by the wines of the last several vintages. This is a big and bold wine, with copious quantities of layered fruit. It is almost black in colour, with chewy, rich black fruit flavours filling the mouth. Full and firm in structure with substantial fine tannic grip. This is a fabulous wine that always delivers the goods.

Chateau Lanessan, Haut-Medoc 2001
Lanessan's 2001 is a consistent overachiever in Haut-Medoc. This wine nearly rivals the outstanding 2000. It is a seriously-extracted, dark ruby/purple-colored offering with ripe cassis fruit, notes of leather and earth, and a hint of truffles. It is medium-bodied, pure, and savory, with copious tannin. It will age well for 10-15 years. Wine Advocate #140 Apr 2002 87-89 Points Drink: 2002 - 2017

Chateau Pierre-Bise Savennières Roches aux Moines 2009
The fermentation here is 100% in wood. Malolactic fermentation 90-95%. This shows very little on the nose, clearly a more reserved style, although there is still a very precise and direct style of fruit here. On the palate it is very much more reined in than the first two, showing a less angular character, more polished, with all of its corners shaved off. But there is still a very dense structure to it. Overall this has a beautiful style, and is just full of potential for the cellar. WINEDOCTOR
