Ashton Hills Piccadilly Valley Pinot Noir 2010
This is the least expensive of Stephen George's Pinot's but always punches well above its weight. It's an absolute gem; think sour cherry and plums with some savoury forest-floor character but what will really blow you away is the impeccable balance and tremendous length of this wine.

Jauma The Rusticity of Rolf Grenache Syrah 2011
Natural wines are now not just for wine geeks and the 'unwashed'. This years releases from Jauma are really showing the elegance that can come from Grenache and as a European I love that. Grenache should be fragrant and food friendly and in the words of the man himself James "The Pinot Noir from the South of France". This wine has some Syrah blended in which adds some softness and fruit so you can enjoy this before dinner. Note that these wines are unfiltered so don't be surprised when you pour a glass if its gloomy but full of flavour! Neil

Longview Devils Elbow Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Ripe red and dark berries, elegant purple florals and beautifully integrated lightly charred oak. Subtle gravely aromas, a hallmark of the vineyard, sit below strong primary cassis and gentle mint. Fine svelte entry, medium weight, it builds in layers of flavour and waves of tannin. Tannins are ripe and juicy, carrying red fruits that gather strength, building to dark berries, spice and a slice of sweet dark chocolate across the finish. Impeccable balance and purity, this will develop gracefully. WINEMAKER
