Bass Phillip, Estate Pinot Noir 2009
Rigorous triaging of fruit, together with an almost insane passion and attention to detail, has resulted in the most exquisite of Australian Pinot Noirs. The wines have beautiful, black cherry, floral and gamey aromas, supple, velvety tannins, underlying smoky oak and plenty of length. In recent years, he has developed new vineyards to become commercially more comfortable without compromising quality. The market is already embracing the Old Cellar Pinot Noir and Crown Prince Pinot Noir, off relatively young vines. The Reserve Pinot Noir is almost impossible to get, but is arguably the greatest Pinot Noir produced in Australia. These wines are on the fringe of the cult scene and can perform spectacularly well. By Farr Farrside Pinot Noir 2009
If anything, has even more purple shade than the Mornington wine; the density of the bouquet leaves you in no doubt this is an imperious pinot, the palate fully living up to the message from the bouquet, with layer-upon-layer of dark fruits playing tag with the ripe tannins that provide texture and structure on the long finish. 97 Points. Cullen, 'Diane Madeline' Cabernet 2007
This is a great wine and one of the very finest Bordeaux blends ever produced at Cullens. It was made using all of the five red grape varieties of Bordeaux, with Cabernet Sauvignon comprising three quarters of the blend. Powerful and sumptuous, with the wonderful black cherry flavours in the middle palate being backed by fine-grained tannins and leading into a rewardingly long and lingering finish.

Penfolds Grange Hermitage 2006
It’s not a massive release but the ropes of flavour-drenched tannin on the finish pull it on and on. This precision engineering through the finish marks its intense quality. It tastes of blackberry and aniseed, nutmeg and smoky vanilla. It’s quite delicious, and yet there’s no question that it’s powerfully wrought. It’s not a particularly heralded vintage, in general terms, but the way this release presents in the glass is, to me, what Grange is all about. Impeccable winemaking, pure fruit, clasps of uncompromising tannin, smokin’ barrels, and thrust. It will live for a very long time, because it’s so well designed, and because it does its thing so well. Rated : 97 Points Drink : 2020 - 2040 The Wine Front

Penfolds Grange Hermitage MAGNUM 1999
The first 100% shiraz Grange since 1963, and an excellent follow on to the 1998 vintage. ayers of fruit, with blackberry and blueberry to the fore, as suggested by the nose. An underlying tarriness and new oak are seamlessly absorbed. A mass of fine grained tannins court a firm tight finish of great length. The wine possesses the essential ingredients of the marque, richness, harmony, and balance. A fitting Grange release to end the 1900’s, with decades of life ahead.

Great wine of shear elegance. Quite un-Barossa like, which for some will be a positive. Minimal sulphur wine that is whole bunch pressed with stems. Will soon become ultra collectable. Yeringberg Cabernets 2008
49% CabernetSauvignonl, 21% Merlot, 11 % Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot. As our PetitVerdot vines have matured over recent years, the Yeringberg blend has now become a 'complete’ Bordeaux blend, which we believe demonstrates the complexities and subtleties that the marriage of the 5 varieties can offer. The aromas of the '08 almost leap from the glass, before leading you onto a beautifully framed palate that shows great structure, supple mouthfeel and a real sense of freshness and liveliness.
