Chateau Pierre-Bise 'Les Rouannieres' Anjou Villages Rouge 2014
Dark and spicy black fruits here, fresh and lifted but with a very firm depth. Forest fruits, black cherry especially. Good substance on the palate, round and attractive, but with a good backbone of tannin. A drier structure showing in the finish and a creamed fruit character. Very ripe and almost chewy tannic core. Lots of lively acidity too. An attractive dark character, beautifully composed but with a very robust backbone to it. WINEDOCTOR
Clos La Coutale, Cahors (Malbec) 2016
A more open, approachable style than many wines from this region. Vibrant blue fruits and notes of rammed earth and graphite burst out of the glass, fine grained tannins with juicy acidity make this the 'Go to' drink now Cahors!!
Jean Marc Burgaud Chateau De Thulon Beaujolais Villages 2016

12.5% alcohol. This is from the Château de Thulon in Lantignié, which is one of the top villages with its granitic hillside vineyards, and is probably close to cru status. 50 year old vines. Nicely structured with a gravelly, grainy, spicy underpinning to the sweet raspberry and cherry fruit. It has a slightly abrupt finish, with firm tannins clamping in on the fruit, but there’s also a nice fleshiness and density here. Finishes fresh with a hint of blackcurrant, this is serious cru-level Beaujolais at a good price. 91/100 Jamie Goode
