Deep purple/red in hue with intense aromas of wild cherry and plum and blackberry fruits of almost liqueur-like intensity. For me, the tell-tale Morgon calvados note is in the mix also (Anthony Hanson describes it as a sherry character in his book “Burgundy”) along with hints of licorice, roasted meats, deep exotic spice, garrigue and a jasmine top-note. Great depth of fruit in the mouth with a healthy dose of palate weight and dry extract. Flavours of wild cherry and plums. It’s medium-bodied, earthy and beautifully approachable…..etched with exotic spice, minerals, licorice, stone again with that calvados note and some ferrous nuance. Quite voluptuous in structure with lovely ripe, gravelly tannins and a lingering, herbal-edged finish that conjures up visions of cherry, cream & spice. Lovely gear! VINOFREAKISM
