Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 2009
Crimson 2009 is characterised by dark cherry fruit and earthy complexity; the product of a warm vintage that delivered a wonderful spread of tannins from both the skins and the ripe, nut-brown seeds. There are savoury, gamey notes as well as hints of crushed rose petals on the nose, altogether more evocative of Burgundy than typical, fruit-forward New World pinots. The palate has a long, satisfying, flavoursome finish. WINEMAKER

Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2010
The 2010 Pinot Noir has a dark, brooding nose with red fruits, notes of star anise and exotic spice. The palate is dense with a sinewy, savoury spine that spreads out to a fine, long, silky finish. The 10/11 growing and ripening season started slowly, with cooler than average temperatures. Even January and February were a little more overcast than usual, but by March we were right into idyllic summer weather, with consistently hot sunny days and cool nights, a pattern that continued to the middle of May. The late, dry summer meant fruit was harvested in top condition. Vine age now shines through year after year, expressed in both the consistency of quality and the distinctive sense of place so evident in Ata Rangi Pinot Noir. Ata Rangi

Mount Difficulty, Pinot Noir 2009
This wine reflects the nature of a cooler vintage displaying great concentration and balance; red fruits of the forest dominate the aroma and these are underpinned by black cherry, Christmas cake spice and savoury herb. The wine has a dark concentrated front palate, which displays these same characters in abundance. The mid palate is fleshy and well textured. The wine finishes with a lovely combination of sinewy tannin, fruit and acidity. WINEMAKER
