The 2009 REDOMA BRANCO is a typical old vines (40-80 years) Douro white blend of grapes like Codega, Rabigato, Donzelinho, Viosinho and Arinto, aged for 8 months in French oak casks. The oak is a little noticeable at first here, but the wine goes right to the fruit and acidity. There is some bite on the finish. I loved the bright, sunny demeanor and its grace and charm, plus its persistence on the finish. The longer it airs out, the more the fruit and acidity comes through. Mark Squires
