Dettori Bianco 2007
The 2007 Bianco is one of the most unusual Vermentinos readers are likely to come across. Dettori’s Bianco is a rich, honeyed white that impresses for its richness and density. Tangerine peel, roasted nuts and light honey develop in the glass. This is a beautiful white from Dettori. The slightly oxidative notes may not appeal to everyone, but readers who enjoy whites macerated on the skins will find much to admire. These Vermentino vines are nearly 50 years old. The 2007 Moscadeddu is a rich, honeyed dessert wine with fabulous intensity and length. Varietal Moscato notes emerge in an expansive, generous style. Apricot jam, tangerine, mint, spices and flowers are woven together in an intricate fabric of notable pedigree. This is a terrific effort from Dettori.
