A 71/ 29% blend, wild yeast fermented, with no acid additions; 87% of the wine was matured for 5 months in French barriques (62% new). Follows in a long and proud tradition of exceptionally complex wines that rely on gentle persuasion, not brute force or, if you prefer, seduction rather than rape.  A wonderful A  pre-dinner conversationalist or a superb companion with whom to enjoy fresh seafood. Pedigree 50% Semillon 45% Sauvignon Blanc 5% Chardonnay Handpicked, hand-sorted, gently whole-bunch pressed. 20% fermented and matured in new and one & two year-old French oak. 80% fermented and matured in stainless steel. Favoured Listening Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Ballet Suite, Dance Of The Reeds As light as lively as the wine itself, gorgeous floral notes and a familiar, approachable rhythm. It also has a surprisingly long finish. PIERRO L.T.C. 2016 There’s been plenty of media attention paid to the quality and longevity of the PIERRO L.T.C. in the last couple of years – with James Halliday, Peter Bourne & John Fordham adding their voices in support of its quality. The ‘sold out’ sign seems to go up earlier each year as well. The L.T.C. seems to defy expectations and the low yielding vintage conditions in 2016 have produced a very similar wine to the 2015 with that intensity and concentration typical of good vintages. Lemon rind & zest combined with tropical fruit flavours all in balance with smooth texture and a long dry finish. We think it’s worth saying that the 2016 L.T.C. will age as gracefully as previous vintages. - Pierro Wines.
