Cullen, Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2009
This is a first rate example of the unique style that has been developed by Cullen Wines from blending the two great white grape varieties of Bordeaux. The wine was made from 81% Sauvignon Blanc and 19% Semillon, which were picked at optimal physiological ripeness and Baumés ranging from 12° to 13°. Twenty seven percent of the wine was fermented in French barriques using indigenous yeasts and it was matured in that oak for four months.

Cuttaway Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2010
For the money this Savy hits the spot, with a certain refinement, elegance and satisfying 'savoury twist' that's rare for it's level. Not as expressive nor as sweet as many of it's contemperies, it's one of the alternate Savys that staff have warmed to, that's not French. Made just down the road, the Southern Highlands infact and the price, a revelation, a saviour in these curious times.
