Hentley Farm Shiraz 2010
Seemless, medium to full bodied Barossa Shiraz. One thing we don't like about many SA reds are the things that stick out of them, be it too much alcohol, sweet sickly fruit or American oak. This is one wine which we can drink more then one glass of, that sits comfortable at it's level and at table. It's a pleasure to see someone getting it right and it's great to be able to recommended such Aussie shiraz.

Our 2007 Yakka Shiraz is dark brick red in colour with aromas of red berries, white pepper and baking spices exhibiting flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherry. Toasty oak characters are integrated perfectly with fine balanced tannins and the finish is spicy and long. Excellent to drink now and will benefit from 8-10 years of cellaring. Penfolds Grange Hermitage 2006
It’s not a massive release but the ropes of flavour-drenched tannin on the finish pull it on and on. This precision engineering through the finish marks its intense quality. It tastes of blackberry and aniseed, nutmeg and smoky vanilla. It’s quite delicious, and yet there’s no question that it’s powerfully wrought. It’s not a particularly heralded vintage, in general terms, but the way this release presents in the glass is, to me, what Grange is all about. Impeccable winemaking, pure fruit, clasps of uncompromising tannin, smokin’ barrels, and thrust. It will live for a very long time, because it’s so well designed, and because it does its thing so well. Rated : 97 Points Drink : 2020 - 2040 The Wine Front

Penfolds Grange Hermitage MAGNUM 1999
The first 100% shiraz Grange since 1963, and an excellent follow on to the 1998 vintage. ayers of fruit, with blackberry and blueberry to the fore, as suggested by the nose. An underlying tarriness and new oak are seamlessly absorbed. A mass of fine grained tannins court a firm tight finish of great length. The wine possesses the essential ingredients of the marque, richness, harmony, and balance. A fitting Grange release to end the 1900’s, with decades of life ahead.
