Château Belle-Vue 2010 (Haut-Medoc)
17 Jancis Robinson, 87-89 Robert Parker, 88-91 Wine Spectator, Decanter 16.5, 88-90 Neal Martin. One of the most consistent cru bourgeois over recent years and situated near the Margaux Estate of Giscours this wine always has a very high portion PV in the blend, around 25 % plus a dash of carmenere. Most vines around 30 years of age but a small portion was planted in 1907
Price :
$34.00
Quantity :

Jancis Robinson 17 From the family of the late Vincent Mulliez, like Gironville. Blackish. Very chewy finish and lots of concentration on the way. Something like elderberry juice here. No shortage of oomph but this needs time. It’s a bit brutal on the finish at the moment. Drink 2016-2024

Robert Parker 87-89 One of the finest over-achievers in the southern Medoc, Belle-Vue is a 36-acre vineyard situated close to Giscours. The 2010's final blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and a whopping 20% Petit Verdot hit 13.5% natural alcohol. The wine boasts a dense purple color along with sweet black currant, cherry, licorice and barbecue smoke notes, medium body, supple tannins and a refined, elegant, lusty style. It is the kind of low level Bordeaux that sells for a song and will make consumers happy.

Wine Spectator 88-91

starstarstarstarstar Decanter 16.5 points Rich black berry fruits, elegantly extracted and good length, an elegant, polished wine. Drink 2014-20.

Neal Martin 88-90 The Belle-Vue 2010 has a ripe, toasty, almost exotic bouquet with a touch of Turkish Delight! But it has good delineation and purity – very pretty and enticing. The palate is ripe and extrovert with prominent vanillary new oak, quite tannic and sharp on the finish, very polished but perhaps a little predictable?  Decent enough. Tasted April 2011.

In Store 'En Primeur' Tasting: ‘From a vineyard adjacent to Margaux's 3rd Growth Giscours we have a classically structured yet true to vintage exuberant styled Cru-Bourgeois with a hint of the floral spice from a small portion of Petite Verdot planted in 1907. Chock a block, plush and polished’.

750ml Format. Cork Closure
