Coulee de Serrant 2011
Big, tannic, and intense, this ’11 Coulée de Serrant shows the ripeness of its vintage in its depth and power. Offering tremendous complexity and considerable balance, this wine explodes with ripe orchard fruit laid atop a firm foundation of minerals and sprinkled with fresh-cut herbs. Showing a touch of bitter almond at the finish, this elegant, profound wine needs some time to mellow, integrate its components, and come into its own. Deriving from the most famous of the Joly holdings, a 17-acre steeply sloped monopole of Chenin Blanc vines averaging 40 years old, with some as old as 80; its soil is almost pure red schist. The Coulée de Serrant is the flagship wine of the estate, one that essentially created the cult of Nicolas Joly. Like Nicolas himself, we suggest thoroughly decanting this wine for optimum enjoyment.
Crawford River Young Vines Riesling 2016

After 12 years of making this wine, we continue to see a structural and textural difference between our older vines and the younger block (planted 2000) and so we continue to make the ‘young vines riesling’, now identifiable to so many of our clients.  2015 was another small harvest at Crawford River but no lack of flavour.Delicate citrus flowers and lime zest lead this youthful wine. Only at the beginning of a long life, it shows fresh white stone fruit and chalky texture on the rounded palate. Clean, taut acidity balance the wine and contribute to its very good persistence. Cristal, Louis Roederer 2009
Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne is the epitome of class and elegance from the house of Roederer. A super limited and hard to find top echelon Champagne, Cristal is a 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay blend that was harvested in near perfect conditions. The resulting wine is a blend of vineyards from the finest vineyards of Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs.
Cullen 'Diana Madeline' Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

75% Cabernet, 25% Merlot. 18 Months in oak, 40% new. First year as the ‘Diana Madeline’ Cabernet Merlot. 13.5%Toasted nuts, vanilla and pan juices on the nose. This smelt ‘different’ to previous vintages. More modern, serious even. Red berries, plushness. Still unfurling. Palate is tight, warm and very long. Alcohol tastes like more than 13.5%. The most tannic wine in the whole lineup. Very dry & powerful. Could be a stunner, but a bit too bold at the moment. 18.3++/20 Andrew Graham Aug 09

Cullen, Cullen Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2015

A 71/ 29% blend, wild yeast fermented, with no acid additions; 87% of the wine was matured for 5 months in French barriques (62% new). Follows in a long and proud tradition of exceptionally complex wines that rely on gentle persuasion, not brute force or, if you prefer, seduction rather than rape. The flavours are so attractive and mouthfilling now, it is easy to forget the wine will mature with grace for well over a decade. Screwcap. 12.5% alc. Drink to: 2025"- 97 Points James Halliday

Curly Flat Pinot Noir Macedon Ranges 2015

A medium bodied, crimson Pinot with a bouquet of violets, black cherries and wild raspberry swirl as scents of undergrowth and pot pourri enhance complexity to form a rich, fragrant and savoury nose. A luscious energetic palate that is awash with fine tannin. Kirsch characters intersect with cocoa, black pepper all to be assuaged by swirls of vanillin spice that flourishes to a long lingering finish.

Curly Flat, Chardonnay 2014

“Bright, clear, medium to full yellow colour, with a cashew-nutty bouquet which is attractive, pure and fresh, laced with honey, lemon and grapefruit. The palate's focus, searing intensity and freshness suggest it will age well and build in the bottle. Appealing spicy touches from the oak. Lovely wine, focused, concentrated and very long, with great potential.”  Drink till 2026 96 Points Huon Hooke
