A deep ruby red wine loaded with blackcurrants, wild strawberries and pomegranate.
Hints of oak back up the dark fruits with a soft velvety mouth feel.
"The 2012 Chianti Classico is round, sweet and super-expressive. Dark red cherry, spice and tobacco meld together as this silky, open-knit Chianti Classico shows off its inviting personality. Succulent and racy to the core, the 2012 will drink well pretty much upon release. This is another fabulous showing from Fontodi." (92 Points – Antonio Galloni, vinousmedia.com)
“Francois Lumpp embodies exactly what we have always looked for in Burgundy: a true vigneron in a specific village. Every wine François makes is from Givry, from vineyards that he planted and nurtured himself–something that is exceedingly rare in Burgundy today, and will become more and more so over time. An acknowledged leader of the appellation, his greatest achievement is harnessing the finesse we look for in Burgundian Pinot Noir—le Pinot fin" – Kermit Lynch – US legendary importer
This is a juicy, vibrant wine bursting with purple flowers and fruits on the nose and palate. Well integrated oak for some delicate, sappy tannins. Medium weight but full flavour. Great length.
This is a plump, polished red blend of the local agiorgitiko with a little syrah that tastes like macerated cherries and violets.
The late, great Maestro del Veneto, Giuseppe Quintarelli, succeeded in establishing his mythical and legendary estate during an amazing sixty-year career. All of the tradition, love, heart, and soul of crafting one of the world’s finest wines continue at the Quintarelli home and winery in the hills north of Verona. Giuseppe’s daughter Fiorenza, his son-in-law Giampaolo, and his grandsons Francesco and Lorenzo are all keeping a close watch over the family’s legacy. 55% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Croatina, Sangiovese.
94 Points Bottled as a single blend in 2012, this has a fine, peppery edge to
the nose with elegant dark-chocolate aromas ahead of brambly dark plums and
black-cherry fruits. There's a wealth of richness and power here, and it's so
layered and dense. A wine that shows a smooth build of fine and even tannin.
The gentle pepperiness cracks into the finish, where there's another warm dark
chocolate afterglow. This spent 36 months in oak, of which 50% was new. Best
from 2018 and for at least a decade afterward. James Suckling
