Sourced from vines around the outskirts of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOP, it represents another great value wine from this benchmark estate.

About the Wine Maker

Although only a few will ever get to these wines as the Domaine is very small (only 5 ½ ha in Châteauneuf-duape and 10 ha of Côtes du Rhône, with over half on vines approaching 100 years old), they are well worth the effort to find.

All the vines are situated in the lieu-dit Chemin Saint Jean, the same northern holy grail as Charvin, Beaucastel, Marcoux, and La Vieille Julienne.

The current custodian, Philippe Bravay, employs organic growing that severely limit his yields (less than 2 tonnes per acre for his Côtes du Rhône, and even for the Châteauneuf du Pape). Vinification is traditional, open-top ferment, presses, and cement cu. A producer to follow!
