The Wine

'Envers de Valmur' : Back of Valmur (Grand Cru)

Swirling the glass gently releases the delicate scents of melon skin, citrus, and grapefruit, accompanied by a faint, briny ocean breeze. On the palate, it's flawless; light and refreshing with initial notes of citrus and grapefruit, which gradually give way to a 'slatey' mineral essence. This is complemented by a subtle, briny dryness that persists on the palate. A refreshing burst of citrus follows, balanced by a soft, creamy texture.

About the Wine Maker

Domaine des Malandes, nestled in the heart of Chablis, is a renowned winemaker with a rich heritage spanning three generations. Established in 1982, this family-owned estate boasts 29 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards dedicated to outstanding Chardonnay cultivation. With a commitment to sustainable farming practices, Domaine des Malandes produces approximately 200,000 bottles annually, including an impressive range of Premier Cru and Grand Cru Chablis wines. Their dedication to preserving the authentic terroir of the region, combined with modern winemaking techniques, has earned them a well-deserved reputation for crafting exceptional and expressive Chablis wines. The Domaine is currently owned and operated by Richard Rottiers, who has taken this estate to a new level with the introduction of organics and only replanting with massale selection Chardonnay. Year after year, these wines have been making huge increases in quality, with 2022 being one of their most outstanding vintages yet. EFW
