The Wine

Second label of Chateau Potensac - owned bu Leoville Las Cases!
70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc

91 Points James Suckling 'Blackberry, mushroom and earthy notes on the nose. It is
full-bodied with elegant tannins and a savory, juicy texture  in the mouth, leading to a flavorful finish. Lightly juicy. A  tiny bit hollow in the middle palate now, but nicely done.
Better after 2022, when it will have filled in.  (January 2021)

89-91 Points Jeb Dunnuck 'The 2018 Chapelle De Potensac is a juicy, ripe, sexy  second wine that has terrific purity as well as notes of black  raspberries, cassis, leafy herbs, and earth. It has good  acidity and freshness, plenty of fruit, and a clean, balanced  style. (June 2019)

About the Wine Maker

Perched on the Potensac plateau in northern Medoc, Chateau Potensac's name reflects its location. The Delon family has overseen the estate for many generations. The Delon family lineage began with the marriage of Jean Hubert Delon's grandfather to a Liquard family member, and the estate has been handed down through the generations ever since.

The vineyard is home to vines with an average age of nearly 50 years, and some of the oldest vines are over 80 years old. The landscape features two sloping gradients, with the highest point reaching 35 meters. The harvesting process combines hand-picking with mechanical techniques.
