By the 18th century, it had gained prominence, earning its 1855 classification. After falling into decline, it was revived in 1954 by Georges Brunet, who oversaw extensive replanting. In 2000, the Frey family took ownership, and under Caroline Frey’s management, the focus has shifted to organic, biodynamic, and sustainable farming practices.

La Lagune is situated on the right side of the road, called Route des Châteaux, after you pass the Bordeaux suburb of Blanquefort (a 15-20 minute drive), in the commune of Ludon. The soil here is primarily composed of gravel, with some sand present in the upper layer. The 80-hectare vineyard houses 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot. La Lagune can be mistaken for a classy Margaux wine when tasted blind, due to its sheer elegance and finesse.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0616/4211/3208/files/72605E7B-845B-4FAA-A5C6-CAEC30A0EF77.jpg?v=1776397554
