A few years ago, quite a few… we had the privilege of hosting one of our most memorable Masterclasses lead by Domaine Faiveley, where we looked at the 2012 Vintage. Long ago the Domaine had a reputation for producing good but at times charmless wines that required much cellar time – sadly some of the older wines have never come round. The tasting was a revelation! The wines were breathtaking…a reflection of the Domaine’s new direction under the guidance and vision of the then younger Erwan Faiveley. The breathtaking wines were a culmination of new vineyard practices, inauguration of a new gravity feed winery and adoption of contemporary winemaking philosophies – all of which combined to captured the full potential and greatness of their terriors. The wines were much more open and pure - charming while still retaining depth and structure. Pleasure giving from the get go but also with ageing capacity given the now harmonious \/balanced state of the wines.
