The Wine

Served at the Lords Cricket Ground... it's also what the discerning Business Class clientele of Japan Airlines enjoy. Uses 20% aged reserve cuvée and has 36 months ageing in bottle on lees (the defining quality in great Champagne), almost double time than Moet & Chandon and many more pricey Grande Marque NV Champagnes, it's a high-quality aperitif style. Which is why Singapore and Japan Airlines selected it for their Business Class Cabins. Lively berry fruits are fused with nutty, honeyed, caramel Champagne tastes. Its generous Champagne flavours are captured in fine bubbles delivering a zesty, deeply refreshing and mellow finish.

"This non-vintage Brut is emblematic of the Gardet House, with a dense and powerful nose showing Pinot depth and richness, all balanced with fine acidity. The palate is full-bodied, creamy in texture with harmonious yeast flavours prominent. It has a softness and accessibility underpinned with loads of black fruit. Aromatic, complex and a long finish. A solid, rounded wine, with immediate appeal." Raymond Chan

About the Wine Maker

The story of Champagne Gardet began at the end of the 19th Century with Charles Gardet (1870-1913). The house owns around 7 ha of premier cru vineyards around the home village of Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes and Rilly la Montagne. The long tirage time and the use of a high proportion of reserve wine has marked the house style, and in fact is a distinguishing feature of Champagne Gardet.
