Hurley 'Garamond' Pinot Noir 2020
The Wine
Garamond is East facing and the last to be picked each year. It’s the coolest site given its exposure and is protected from the prevailing winds from SW and West coming across the valley behind the estate. Kevin stress the importance of picking parcel by parcel across this vineyard, despite the vineyard only being 1.2 hectares in size. All planted with MV6 Clone.

About the Wine Maker
The Hurley Vineyard wines are a set of Pinot Noirs built out of a singular focus shared by husband and wife team, Kevin Bell and Tricia Byrnes. The vineyard is located in Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula. If vintage conditions allow, three separate Pinot Noirs from three individual blocks are made, showcasing the differences in style across their excellent site. The original Hurley Farm was established by Irish settlers William and Johanna Hurley back in the 1860s. Burgundy clearly inspired them to this endeavour, not to mimic the wines from the Cote d’Or in terms of taste but the ethos of single site expressions, terrior driven wines.
