Rouges Queues, Maranges Blanc 2019
The Wine
All fruit is harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously in a combination of stainless steel and open-top wood fermenters. The wines are aged for 11-12 months in used barrel and may be bottled without SO2 if the conditions allow. These wines embody everything great about the changing face of Burgundy - excellent farming, little to no intervention in the cellar, with the resulting wines tasting pure and alive, but also possessing a sense of place and character of the vintage.
A relatively new Appellation, this is a great example of Maranges potential!
Bio-Dynamic certified.

About the Wine Maker
Domaine des Rouges Queues was established in 1998 by Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey. They farm six hectares biodynamically across 15 different sites in various appellations. The name 'Rouges Queues' or 'red tail' in English, came about by the 'Black Redstart' birds who are resident of the area.
Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey farm six hectares of certified biodynamic vineyards in Maranges, Santenay, and the Hautes- Côtes de Beaune. These wines are an excellent representation of good farming in Burgundy and showcase unique, expressive character of the terrior that is sometimes lost in the bigger estates. These are pure, alive and raw wines crafted with loved by this avant- garde couple that do almost everything themselves.
