About the Wine Maker
The Lilliano estate began bottling and selling wines in 1958 under Princess Eleonora Ruspoli Berlingieri, whose family acquired the property in 1920. The current proprietors, Giulio and Pietro Ruspoli, oversee the estate which is distributed across three vineyards: 'Le Piagge' with Sangiovese vines, 'Casina Sopra Strada' with Sangiovese and Colorino, and 'Vigna Catena' with Merlot. The predominant soil type is 'Alberese' marly limestone, which is dense with heavy stones, contributing to a slower grape ripening process that helps maintain the grapes' acidity and aromatic freshness. The estate adheres to organic farming practices.
