Chateau Ferran 2020
The Wine
This premium Bordeaux blend, made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from Pessac-Léognan in Graves, is exquisitely balanced and robust, with fine-grained, velvety tannins. It offers a classic bouquet of tobacco, cassis, dark cherry, leather, and tar, enhanced by distinctive mineral and mushroom notes. The wine matures in French oak barrels for 12 months, with 30% new oak used in the process.
92 Pts Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast 'This estate is close to Bordeaux. The blend of Merlot with touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot has produced a wine with dark cherry and vanilla aromas. Its ripe fruits, juicy and dense, are full bodied and still young. Drink from 2026.'
90-92 Pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 'Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it offers fragrant notes of kirsch, candied plums, Boysenberries, and raspberry coulis, along with hints of spice cake, licorice, and Mediterranean scrub, with a touch of crushed black pepper. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and spicy, offering a delicate texture and consistent freshness, and finishes with a savory aftertaste. 2024–2039'
