The Wine

The grapes from the Fromm home vineyard, as well as one site in the Waihopai Valley, and three in the Brancott Valley. No herbicides, pesticides, or systemic fungicides are used, only approved natural fertilizers, and all vineyards are BioGro-certified organic. Hand-picked between March 14th and 25th, the fruit was almost entirely destemmed with just a few whole bunches, keeping plenty of whole berries, and fermented with wild yeast. Skins stayed in contact for 21 to 28 days before maturing for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, less than 10% of which were new. The wine’s aroma is pretty and lifted, with hints of rain-washed petals, hedgerow fruit, and a trace of spice. On the palate, it’s rounded, with fine, integrated tannins, fresh blueberry-like acidity, summer fruit notes, darker damson tones, and a touch of subtle vanilla.

Super Standout!
Nothing overdone, nothing out of place, pure, individual - dancing to its own beat and it a good one... TC
