About the Wine Maker 
Vavasour is the original winery in Marlborough’s smaller, cooler Awatere Valley. Deep knowledge of this striking southern area allows us to produce small-batch Sauvignon Blancs with exceptional elegance, aroma, and texture.
Back in 1986, the remote Awatere was considered too harsh for vines, but Vavasour had first choice of the land. That bold move paid off immediately, with wines showcasing intense layers of flavor that quickly caught international attention.
