The Wine

This wine boasts a deep, vibrant color, with enticing aromas of red fruits and a hint of spice. Rich, generous, and full-bodied, it’s a Gigondas that beautifully captures the character of its terroir and the tradition of the appellation.

Mostly Grenache blended with Syrah and Mourvèdre, from 40-year-old vines rooted in sandy clay and limestone soils.

Hand harvesting; sorting of the grapes is done in the vineyards and 100% de-stemmed. Up to 30 days maceration in enamel-coated concrete vats. Natural yeast fermentation. Aging is 18-24 months in 5,000 liter oak foudres

94 Pts Anna-Christina Cabrales, Wine Enthusiast 'The nose is a feast and hunger-inducing, reminiscent of takeout night of roasted duck in plum sauce, beef lo mein, roasted cherries, hoisin, five-spice, thyme—mouthwatering in the best way possible. The palate is round and velvety, with plush tannins, and vibrant acidity that elongates a finish of dark cherry, spice, and violets. I'd order this again, no question.'

Super smooth, the glide is outstanding!

    About the Wine Maker

Domaine Raspail-Ay has earned cult status in Gigondas, a village in the southern Vallée du Rhône, thanks to a long lineage of vignerons beginning with Eugène Raspail, a notable local figure who built Château Raspail and founded the Domaine in 1854. They focus exclusively on Gigondas, producing just one cuvée each year. The vineyard is planted with 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, all located on the plain in front of the village. With vines averaging 45 years old, the vineyard naturally yields high ripeness and concentration.
