95 Pts Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion 'Bright mid-ruby with aromas of ripe red and dark cherries, pomegranate, rhubarb and red plum. Hints of crushed herbs, turned earth, dried game meats, cherry clafoutis and crushed stone. Elegant and long of flavour, the wine stretches out on the palate with a plume of ripe fruit, gravelly tannin and a briney minerality tending to stony and savoury on the tail end.

About the Wine Maker
Founded in 1979 by Geoff and Susan Bell, Freycinet was among the first to plant vineyards on Tasmania’s East Coast. Known for consistently producing some of the state’s finest wines, every bottle is still entirely grown, made, and bottled on the family-owned estate.
The 2024 Freycinet Pinot Noir shows all the hallmark power, depth, complexity, and length of top Tasmanian Pinot Noir. Aromas of spice, black cherries, ripe raspberries, and plums mingle with hints of game, truffle, and cedar. The lively palate is smooth and balanced, brimming with ripe berry and plum flavors, layered with sweet oak, fine savory tannins, and a velvety texture. With careful cellaring, its silky mouthfeel and earthy, gamey notes will continue to evolve over the next 10 to 20 years.
