The Wine
94 Pts Christy Canterbury, MW timAtkin.com 'If you've ever wondered, 60 ouvrées is 2.39 hectares. Just over half of these vines were planted in the 50s with the other half planted in the 80s. The nose here sizzles fervently with blueberries and baking spices. The rounded mid-palate is surrounded by lively, lightly grippy tannins and supporting acidity. This is polished with nicely chalky freshness.'
92-94 Pts 'Sweet spot/Outstanding' Allen Meadows, Burghound 'Here there is almost no difference between this cuvée and the regular save perhaps for just a touch more freshness though it's minimal. On the palate there is just a hair more vibrancy and precision though not more depth or persistence on the balanced, lightly austere and impressively long finish that would also benefit from better depth. It will be interesting to compare the two cuvées at full maturity to see what, if anything, aging in amphore has added or, possibly, subtracted. Drink: 2034+'.
Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report 'Ooh – that’s got a beautiful top-line of floral perfume over deeper, rounder fruit. In the mouth too – top-level clarity and a certain fluidity too – just faintly accented by the creamy barrel. The finish holds with a faint, almost grainless tannin. Potentially a great wine I think!'

About the Wine Maker 
Located at Volnay, Domaine Pousse d'Or was established in 1954. Its vineyards are anything but ordinary, consisting of mainly of premier and grand crus in the villages of Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Corton, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay
The Domaine can be traced back to the Dukes of Burgundy and the year 1100. Since 1997, its new owner Patrick Landanger has invested considerable resources both in the vineyards themselves and in the arrangements for vinification and elevage.
