Domaine Les Fouques Cuvee Tradition Rose 2023
The Wine
92 Pts, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front "Peach tea, melon, a herb and floral perfume, fennel seeds, strawberries too. It’s juicy, but balanced, lots of fresh strawberry and raspberry, bright acidity, a chalky and dusty texture, succulent with it, a glycerol slipperiness, though it finishes tight, with a twist of blood orange and excellent length. Nice. Drink 2024-2027."

About the Wine Maker
Despite the ideal sunny and windy conditions, biodynamic viticulture remains surprisingly rare in the Provence region. A notable exception is the small estate of Domaine les Fouques, managed by Yves Gros, with wines crafted by his daughter Christelle. The farm also raises guinea fowl and chickens. Spanning just 17 hectares in a breathtaking landscape, a visit to this estate is imbued with a mystical aura.
These wines truly reflect their terroir—there's no doubt about it. They consistently showcase quality and style, with peach, melon, and slate as the signature notes, and the vintage as the only variable. Sampling the set together reveals increasing levels of concentration and complexity. Transparent expressions of vintage and terroir, these wines rival the esteemed profiles of great Burgundy, Barolo, or Mosel, challenging conventional views and standards of rosé.
