Caprera 'Le Vasche' Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo 2023
The Wine
Cerasuolo gets its name from “cerasa,” the Italian word for cherry, a small, delicate fruit reflected in the wine’s color and aroma. Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a distinctive rosé made from Montepulciano grapes, a variety full of contrasts. It balances the structure and complexity of a red wine with the freshness and easygoing charm of a rosé. Deeply rooted in Abruzzo’s culinary tradition, it was once made by blending white and red grapes. On the table, it’s wonderfully versatile, pairing effortlessly with a wide range of dishes all year round.

About the Wine Maker
Caprera was established in 2012 in Pietranico, nestled in the Pescara hinterland between the Maiella and Gran Sasso mountains. Today, it spans 22 hectares of organic farmland divided into two nearby yet distinctly different plots. Only a small area is devoted to vineyards, while the rest includes expansive woodland, around 500 olive trees, fields of local wheat varieties, plus an apiary and a pond teeming with diverse wildlife.
