The Wine

60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

Always one of the most concentrated and "mondiale" style wines of Saint Emilion.

96 Pts Jeb Dunnuck 'The 2022 Château Monbousquet is blockbuster stuff. It might not be for the classic traditionalists out there, but it's a "wow" wine for sure. Darker currants, chocolate, tobacco, crushed stone and graphite define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied, with a deep, layered, opulent mouthfeel, beautiful tannins. and a great finish. It's a blockbrister yet seamless, layered, flawlessly balanced Monbousquet that, in my opinion, rivals any vintage of this cuvée ever produced. Drink bottles over the coming two decades.'

95 Pts Falstaff 'Dark ruby colour, opaque core, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Ripe black cherry fruit, subtle nougat, candied orange zest, inviting bouquetComplex, sweet fruit of ripe figs, velvety, supporting tannins, elegant and accessible, a great food wine with salty finish. Good ageing potential.

94 Pts Antonio Galloni, Vinous 'The 2022 Monbousquet is gorgeous. Rich, deep and explosive, the 2022 offers up an exotic mélange of sumptuous red/purplish fruit, lavender, mint and rose petal. Curvy and sumptuous, with striking fruit purity, Monbousquet is super-impressive in this tasting.'
