Foreign Friends 'Jeanne' Savagnin 2024
The Wine
The cornerstone white grape of Jura!
Cold soaked on skins for half a day before pressing, Then fermented in old rench barriques. Partial malolactic fermentation. Aged over winter & spring in old French barriques. Bottled in October. On the nose it offers subtle wildflower & honeysuckle notes with some spiced apples & a hint of oxidative notes (think dried hay). The palate is very generous with warm, embracing peach, pear & very textural.
93 Pts Mike Bennie, The Wine Front This has the succulence, richness and depth of the variety with a cool, fresh finish and a general sense of slipperiness and ripeness. Tonic water, green pear, apple, ginger, cumin, some ginger beer and cider. Some pleasing, very varietal saltiness in the mix. An elegant, medium to fuller weight wine of immense character and charisma.’

About the Wine Maker
Born over a love of wine, travel and friendship, Foreign Friends is a collaboration between sisters Leila and Crystal and close French friend Juliette - who meet a decade ago doing Vintage in Beechworth.
Fast forward, their collab has resulted in their inaugural release of some of smashing Beechworth and King Valley vinous expressions. These are super impressive vins and we’ve selected their white bottlings to bring in store. The team popped in recently based on what we tasted, the wines are top notch!
