Valcerasa (Alice Bonaccorsi) Etna Rosso 2018
The Wine
Mostly Nerello Mascalese with a little Nerello Cappuccio from the Bonaccorsi vineyards in Randazzo. Fermentation and maceration on skins in stainless steel, then ageing in old barriques.
Burgundy is the first thing that comes to mind as it jolts the senses. It's a wine that's always released with some age—hallelujah! From the first sip, it declares its quality. Nothing seems out of place; it's understated yet envelops every crevice of the palate. It exists in both the physical and spiritual realms. With multi-layered complexity, it showcases soft, plush red fruits with a complementary undercurrent of 'Etna' volcanic minerality. TC

About the Wine Maker
The Bonaccorsi family have owned vineyards located on the slopes of the Etna Volcano since 1763. The bottom part of vines are located in the territory of Piedimonte Etneo at about 800 meters above sea level, in the district of Val Cerasa "Valley of Cherries". In 2000 Alice Bonaccorsi and her husband Rosario Pappalardo started a new adventure, they decide to buy land, located in Contrada Croce Monaci in Randazzo, laying the foundations of what is now the Azienda Agricola Valcerasa.
