The Wine

Mostly Nerello Mascalese with a little Nerello Cappuccio from the Bonaccorsi vineyards in Randazzo. Fermentation and maceration on skins in stainless steel, then ageing in old barriques.

“Burgundy like, is the first thing that shakes the senses into focus. Its a wine that’s always released with some age, hallelujah! From the first sip, it speaks of quality. Nothing seem out off place, understanded but also envelopes every crevice of the palate. It lives in both the physical and spiritual world. Multi layered complexity, it displays soft plush red fruits with a complementary current of ‘Etna’ volcanic minerality running underneath. Enthralling . TC

About the Wine Maker

The Bonaccorsi family have owned vineyards located on the slopes of the Etna Volcano since 1763. The bottom part of vines are located in the territory of Piedimonte Etneo at about 800 meters above sea level, in the district of Val Cerasa "Valley of Cherries". In 2000 Alice Bonaccorsi and her husband Rosario Pappalardo started a new adventure, they decide to buy land, located in Contrada Croce Monaci in Randazzo, laying the foundations of what is now the Azienda Agricola Valcerasa.
