The Wine

Southeast-facing vineyards, perched 150 metres above sea level on volcanic soil, grow vines aged 30 to 60 years, trained in the Pergola Veronese style. Grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled 16–18°C to lock in freshness and aroma. The wine matures on the lees in tanks until bottling the following February, adding depth and flavour. The nose is fresh and subtly peachy, with delicate honeysuckle and pear notes. On the palate, it’s juicy and smooth, lightly honeyed, with bright citrus, stone fruit, pleasant pithiness, and a hint of almond. Focused and refined, it finishes crisp, sharp, and mineral.
Good to go now but will also age superbly!

About the Wine Maker

In 2011, our family had the pleasure of visiting Cantine Pra, where we tasted extensively before being taken up the hills, in the back of their farm ute...to inspect the vineyards planed in the unique, grey-soiled terroir that distinguishes this estate from most others in Soave. A small but super high quality and focused Estate! TC

Situated in the heart of the Soave Classico DOC near Verona, Cantine Prà is managed by brothers Sergio and Graziano Pra. Sergio oversees the estate's 25 hectares of vineyards, while Graziano runs the winery. The Prà wine range is regarded as a benchmark for the region, featuring the Soave Classico, an unoaked Soave Classico Superiore, Monte Grande, the barrique-aged Soave Classico Colle Sant’ Antonio, and an exquisite Recioto di Soave Classico.
