Chateau Bernadotte Haut Medoc 2018
The Wine
A classic, medium-bodied Left Bank Haut-Médoc, exhibiting traditional Médoc characteristics. Drinking well now but get a case or two to lock away in the cellar for 5 - 10 years, such is the quality of the 2018 Vintage. Consistently impressive, it comes highly recommended and an absolute bargain!!
16.5+ Pts James Lawther MW, jancisrobinson.com 'Cru bourgeois supérieur. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. Reticent but pure with just a hint of blackcurrant. Fresh and poised palate, the emphasis again on dark fruit. Plentiful tannins but refined. Firm, long, persistent finish. Serious, ageworthy wine.'
90 Pts Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast 'Named after the royal family of Sweden, this estate is now producing wines worthy of the pedigree. This latest release (2018) is rich and balanced, offering black fruits dominated by Merlot and bold tannins. It is a powerful wine that will take time. Drink from 2024'
