The Wine

91-94 Pts James Suckling 'Thick and concentrated, with loads of tropical fruit, such as mango and papaya. Full, lively and spicy, with plenty of botrytis and a long finish. Wonderful potential.'

18.5 Pts Jancis Robinson 'Mid honeyed gold. Strong botrytis. Massive richness, real tingle factor and excitement. Long and very thorough and intriguing. Lots of development still to come. Still chewy. Energetic. Long.'

About the Wine Maker

Château Coutet, a Premier Cru Classé (French: First Growth) sweet wine, hails from the Sauternes-Barsac appellation in Barsac, situated in the southern region of Bordeaux's vineyards in France. As one of the oldest vineyards producing Sauternes, Château Coutet is nestled between the Garonne and Ciron rivers, enjoying a microclimate with autumn mists that are essential for the development of Botrytis cinerea. The vineyard spans 38 hectares, planted with 75% Sémillon, 23% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle grape varieties.
