Chateau Potensac 2012
The Wine
The 2012 Potensac has matured exquisitely from its time in the barrel, now presenting a more robust body that harmonizes with its previously pronounced tannins. The aroma, once subtle, has blossomed to emit traces of raspberry, strawberry, and tobacco. On the palate, one is greeted with velvety blackberry notes laced with tobacco undertones and a hint of sea salt. The finish, evocative of Pauillac, unveils elements of pencil lead and boasts a remarkable longevity that now places it in the perfect drinking window to. Enjoy 2024 through to 2034.
90 Points Neal Martin 'Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Potensac surpassed my expectations from barrel, because as I stated back then, it has developed more flesh to counterbalance those prenatal hard tannins. It has an attractive if unspectacular raspberry, strawberry and tobacco-scented bouquet, quite closed at first, opaque, but opening with several minutes in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe blackberry fruit laced with tobacco and sea salt. I appreciate the finish here. There is satisfying substance, a gentle grip and a classic pencil lead, almost Pauillac-like finish. Enjoy this upstanding Médoc from Jean-Hubert Delon over the next 10-12 years. Tasted January 2016.'

About the Wine Maker
Perched on the Potensac plateau in northern Medoc, Chateau Potensac's name reflects its location. The Delon family has overseen the estate for many generations. The Delon family lineage began with the marriage of Jean Hubert Delon's grandfather to a Liquard family member, and the estate has been handed down through the generations ever since.
The vineyard is home to vines with an average age of nearly 50 years, and some of the oldest vines are over 80 years old. The landscape features two sloping gradients, with the highest point reaching 35 meters. The harvesting process combines hand-picking with mechanical techniques.
