Dozens come in original wooden case
The 2012 vintage has matured exquisitely, offering a glimpse into the delights of aged Claret. The once subtle aromas have blossomed, unveiling notes of raspberry, strawberry, and tobacco. The palate is greeted with velvety blackberry flavors mingled with tobacco and a hint of sea salt. The finish, evocative of Pauillac, displays pencil lead nuances and remarkable staying power, suggesting it's at its prime for enjoyment from now until 2034!
‘More delicate than this wine usually is and already providing classic drinking…’ Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, March 2022
90 Points Neal Martin 'Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Potensac surpassed my expectations from barrel, because as I stated back then, it has developed more flesh to counterbalance those prenatal hard tannins. It has an attractive if unspectacular raspberry, strawberry and tobacco-scented bouquet, quite closed at first, opaque, but opening with several minutes in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe blackberry fruit laced with tobacco and sea salt. I appreciate the finish here. There is satisfying substance, a gentle grip and a classic pencil lead, almost Pauillac-like finish. Enjoy this upstanding Médoc from Jean-Hubert Delon over the next 10-12 years. Tasted January 2016.'

About the Wine Maker
Chateau Potensac derives its name from its prime location atop the Potensac plateau in the northern Medoc region of Bordeaux. The Delon family has owned Chateau Potensac for several generations. Jean Hubert Delon's grandfather acquired the estate through his marriage into the Liquard family, and since then, it has been handed down from father to son. The family also own famed 2nd Growth Chateau Leoville Las Cases and Pomerol’s, Chateau Nenin.
Potensac is recognized as one of the major growths of the Médoc appellation. Moreover, it is the only one, at the classification of Crus Bourgeois of 2003 of the Médoc appellation, to have been classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
The vineyards predominantly spread across rolling hills with a subsoil of limestone, topped with clay and gravel outcrops rich in gravel ("graves"). These soils closely resemble those of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. In this unique terroir, vines of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, planted more than 80 years ago, continue to yield fully mature, robust grapes.
Potensac’s wines have a solid pedigree and come highly recommended!
