Domaine du Pelican Arbois Rouge Trois Cepages 2022
The Wine
A blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau, and a touch of Poulsard, the 2022 Arbois Trois Cépages delivers bright red fruit, earthy layers, and a hint of spice. Its pale, almost translucent red hue hints at racy berry flavors and brisk acidity. Cellar time ore decant to allow it to fill out, but given its pedigree, it will sure shine with a little patience!

About the Wine Maker
Founded in 2012 by Guillaume d’Angerville and François Duvivier, Domaine du Pélican is based in Montigny-lès-Arsures, a hillside village just north of Arbois, often called the world capital of Trousseau. The estate started with historic parcels once cared for by the Chavanes family, including the famed Grand Curoulet, and has since grown to 15 hectares in the Arbois appellation. Today, the vineyards feature all five of the Jura’s classic grape varieties: Trousseau, Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Savagnin, and Chardonnay.
The story began with one unforgettable bottle—Stéphane Tissot’s 2005 Chardonnay Arbois Les Bruyères—which inspired Guillaume to seek out vineyards in the Jura. His search led to biodynamically farmed plots at Château Chavanes, untouched land once worked by Jean-Marc Brignot, and eventually to vines acquired from the iconic Jacques Puffeney after his retirement.
