The Wine

The Clos Mireille Rosé is an expression of a blend of various grapes typical of the Côtes de Provence appellation: Grenache, the majority grape, chosen for its full-bodied texture, Cinsault for its well-known softness and Syrah for its fruity roundness.

The wine is a very pale pink highlighted, depending on the vintage, with golden, orange and even vermilion tints. Its bouquet reveals fresh fruit (mango, melon) punctuated with lemony notes. On the palate, its freshness develops through citrus aromas around a resolutely mineral core before ending with a subtly persistent finish.

On the 2020 Vintage : 94/100 Josh Raynolds, Vinous.com "Glistening orange-pink. Vibrant, mineral-accented cherry, peach, and honeydew scents, along with orange pith and floral nuances. Stains the palate with juicy red berry, citrus fruit and lavender flavors that show very good depth as well as liveliness. Shows firm tension and dusty mineral character on the long, penetrating finish, which leaves melon and blood orange notes behind.

About the Wine Maker

In 1896, after a tour of France’s many vineyards, Alsatian Marcel Ott came to Provence and bought several estates and began renovating them with the determined ambition to create great Provencal wines from noble grape varieties.

120 years later, Jean-François Ott continues to run three estates (now owned by Louis Roeder) : Chateau de Selle, Clos Mireille and Chateau Romassan. Each of these properties has its own individual charm and personality.

They are now renowned for their beautiful perfume-bottles and label design, as well as making some of the world's greatest Roses!
