The Wine

100% Malbec from 43 yr old single vineyard from the region of Ugarteche located in the sub-appellation of Lujan de Cuyo, where soils are a mix of a sandy loam, sand, clay, and silt. 50% aged in french oak barrels during 8 months, 15% new barrel and 35% second and third use barrels, 50% Stainless steel tanks.

91 points, Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous Media 'The 2024 Malbec Paulucci comes from a vineyard planted in 1960 in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo. It opens with ripe, slightly dried plum and blackberry over a light violet backdrop. Plush, light and juicy, it shows a gently clingy mid-palate that delivers an accessible, fruit-forward expression shaped by the warmth of the zone.'

About the Wine Maker

La Posta is a collaborative wine venture between Laura Catena and winemaker Luis Reginato. Born in Mendoza, Laura belongs to a pioneering winemaking family. She has played a leading role in establishing her father Nicolas’s winery, Catena Zapata, as one of the leading producers of Argentine wine. An incredibly driven person, Laura runs 3 separate wine ventures, all while living in San Francisco, where she is employed as an ER doctor. For La Posta, Laura and Luis wanted to produce wines made from grapes sourced from single vineyard sites. The name of the winery means “the tavern”, a reference to the place where grape growers and vignerons meet.
