The Wine

Aged for 10 months in French oak barriques, this wine boasts a dark red color with black-tinted edges and a faint red-purple hue. A bouquet of spicy dark cherry, anise, and strawberry aromas blend with hints of toasty cedar, forest floor, and subtle clove. The palate is light-bodied and savory, featuring flavors of dark cherry and anise atop a spicy foundation of toasty cedar, forest floor, and dried herbs. It concludes with a fresh finish, fine-grained tannins, and a complex, spicy aftertaste.

About the Wine Maker 

Maude is a family-operated wine company founded by the winemaking duo Sarah-Kate and Dan Dineen. They produce artisanal wines in their bespoke winery set against the breathtaking scenery of Lake Wanaka in Central Otago, New Zealand. The family's estate vineyard, Mt Maude, established in 1994, graces the steep north-facing slopes of the secluded Maungawera Valley, located just beyond Wanaka in Central Otago.
