Mottura Negroamaro Salento 2023
The Wine
On the 2021 Vintage
93 Pts Ken Garett, Wine Pilot 'Negroamaro continues to attract (favourable) attention in Australia and examples hailing from its home can only assist, especially when they are as delicious as this. Deep magenta in colour, we have warm earth and roast meat notes, chocolate, tobacco leaves, dried herbs, bay leaves and dark berries. The wine offers ripe flavours with good focus, a tight structure, reasonably firm tannins and impressive length. Lots to love here. A wine which will provide considerable pleasure over the next six to eight years.'

About the Wine Maker
Mottura’s vineyards are located in the Salento region in Italy’s deep south, in the sunny heel-tip of the famous boot. Family run since its founding in 1927, the winery maintains a longstanding commitment to native grapes of the region including the Primitivo and the Negroamaro. The vineyards are between 10 and 60 years old and soils are either volcanic red earths or calcareous white soils, producing intense and full-bodied wines.
