Mottura Primativo del Salento 2023
The Wine
93 Pts Ken Garett, Wine Pilot 'Absolutely delicious red from the Primitivo grape, also known as Zinfandel, from the Puglia region in Italy. Gleaming dark red/crimson in colour, the nose exhibits notes of aniseed, plums, blackberries and florals, with a touch of red jellybean evident. A supple and seductive texture with fine tannins, the wine has impressive length and the intensity is maintained for the full journey. Delicious drinking and should remain so for the next six to eight years.'

About the Wine Maker
Mottura’s vineyards are located in the Salento region in Italy’s deep south, in the sunny heel-tip of the famous boot. Family run since its founding in 1927, the winery maintains a longstanding commitment to native grapes of the region including the Primitivo and the Negroamaro. The vineyards are between 10 and 60 years old and soils are either volcanic red earths or calcareous white soils, producing intense and full-bodied wines.
