The Wine

Perlage is one of Italy's first certified organic sparkling wineries, and a family project of the 7 Nardi brothers. Not your typical Italian pinot grigio. Sourced from 250m in the subregion of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and limestone / volcanic laced soils, this organic Grigio was native fermented on skins in stainless steel. Pear skin, elderflower, lemon peel, meadow grass is bright and lifted on the slight 12% palate, with energy and texture via the skin time and soils. Smart, snappy, saline, this is a moreish Italian white. Fantastic value too.

About the Wine Maker

Perlage, still family owned were the first to receive organic certification in 1981 then 1st for biodynamic certification in 2005 in the region. This was a decisive and inspired choice which has led Perlage to its current position as a company known all over the world, which has successfully married tradition and innovation in its biodynamic and organic wines.
