The Wine

Sweet Renzano is a sweet vermouth made with foraged ingredients local to NSW. It tastes like an amaro and is delicious.

Renzano, our COVID project. Made in conjunction with our good friend Evan Stroeve, a great bloke and an even better bar tender. He is currently running Re, one of Sydney’s most exciting new bars. Sweet Renzano is much like an amaro in style. Bitter, herbaceous and brimming with flavour- it’s been concocted using an array of different ingredients many of which were foraged locally, from the garden or purchased from Australian suppliers.

Sweet Renzano contains; absinth wormwood, sweet wormwood, pepperberry, native sage, bay leaf, aniseed mytle, wild olive leaf, chamomile, rock samphire seeds, river mint, rhubarb, peach leaf, wild plum, oregano, mugwort, wattle seed, seville orange rind and dandelion root.  Renzaglia

About the Wine Maker

Mark & Sandy Renzaglia took on the challenge of establishing a small vineyard in O’Connell Valley near Bathurst in 1997. There was no power, no town water, no neighbours growing grapes, just determination. Now their son Sam is on the hunt, taking Renzaglia Wines to the next level, seeking modern expressions from grapes sourced locally, and really pushing the conversation around responsible, sustainable, respectful farming in NSW. Renzaglia The family home, the Bella Luna Vineyard, and the winery are nestled in the rolling hills of the locality of O’Connell. It looks out over the O’Connell Valley to the north-east and further towards the Winburndale Nature Reserve, Mt Ovens and Mt Horrible. From this patch of dirt, the Renzaglia family have been tending to two acres of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot since 1997. Recent plantings of Tempranillo, Grenache, Shiraz, Viognier, and Chardonnay were added to the mix in 2020, plus Sangiovese this year.
